Data you provide to the firm
When you contact the firm by telephone or email, the data you provide (identity, contact details, elements of your situation) is processed to answer your request, arrange a consultation and, where applicable, defend or represent you.
Legal bases: pre-contractual steps and performance of the contract (fee agreement), the legal and ethical obligations of the profession, and the firm's legitimate interest in managing its client relationships.
This data is covered by legal professional privilege (Article 66-5 of the Law of 31 December 1971). It is disclosed only to those necessary to handle the matter: courts, court officers, fellow lawyers, experts, authorities, and the firm's technical providers (email, hosting) bound by confidentiality. Email and the website are hosted in Switzerland, recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection.
Retention
Data from an enquiry that does not lead to an engagement is kept for one year. Case data is kept for the duration of the engagement and then archived for five years from its closure, which may be extended by a legal obligation or the need to evidence a right.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data, within the limits of professional secrecy and legal retention obligations.
